"Big board" is a big result
Probably, as often as about renting a big board, we are asked: what is the correct way to say – big board or billboard? We, serious people, mentally take out the Great Encyclopedia of Advertising from the shelf and answer… The term “billboard” appeared at the beginning of the 20th century in the USA. Advertisements were then called “bill”, and “board” was called the shield itself.
Over time, as people bought cars and went out of town, local advertisers placed more billboards along the roads. Renting a big board appeared in the lexicon after the appearance of a new operator of outdoor advertising Big Board and the inscription of the same name on its advertising structures. Translated from English, the term bigboard sounds like “big board”, which is also correct if we are talking about a large advertising structure in the form of a shield. So, both are correct. The main thing is that the advertising on it is also correct.
A lot of time has passed since the beginning of the last century, including the development of Internet advertising and a separate digital era.
However, bigboards are still considered a powerful advertising tool: they attract the attention of drivers, remind about a brand or inform about a new sales offer. They are installed, as a rule, along highways, streets and in crowded places.
You can rent a big board horizontal, vertical (3×6 m), with or without lighting. The prism billboard, prismatron, also known as prismavizhn, looks especially effective. Advertising in it is shown by a set of equilateral trihedral prisms, the rotation of which by 120° changes one picture, and the rotation by 360° changes the entire advertising plot three times.
The standard formats of such a “miracle” are 6×3 m. Another interesting type of dynamic bigboards is a scroll. Renting a scroll, roller, scroller is always a good idea, it gives dynamics to the advertising plot and illuminates it in the dark. The display time of one picture is approximately 20 seconds.
